Mr. Obama,
You always like basking in the spotlight while you take credit for accomplishments, even if you only had peripheral involvement, so man up and take the credit for these issues as they certainly belong to you.
I’m sure the American people would love to hear how its all the fault of someone else. So while you sit on your throne issuing your edicts and mandates and gazing down on all the American peasants who “belong to the government” keep in mind that we are a Democratic Republic and not a Monarchy and you will be held accountable in the voting booth.
Let’s start with the economic meltdown in 2008 which was fueled by the housing bubble created by sub-prime loans. In a landmark lawsuit filed on behalf of 186 plaintiffs, Obama sued Citibank to force them to give loans to poor minorities in Chicago. In other words, he sued a bank into creating sub-prime mortgages. According to the Washington Times, only 19 of Obama’s 186 plaintiffs still have clean credit. The rest have missed payments or have been foreclosed on, resulting in almost half of the original plaintiffs losing their homes. Obama used government and legal coercion to subvert markets; he forced banks to give out loans that almost destroyed the United States economy. President Bush and Greenspan, for their parts, both created easy credit through the easing of regulations that have hurt our economy but the landmark civil suit that began it all falls at the feet of Obama. It doesn’t take a Harvard Law graduate to do the simple math and see that people can’t afford to pay their mortgage. I do find it interesting that this lawsuit occurred during his campaign for the U.S. Senate. Could it be just another attempt to purchase votes in this instance using the CitiBank investors money instead of taxpayer money and entitlements which is his current method?
Another signature accomplishment of Obama is the The Lilly Ledbetter law requiring equal pay for women. At the signing of the law in 2009 Obama said, “That there are no second-class citizens in our workplaces and that it’s not just unfair and illegal – but bad for business – to pay someone less because of their gender, age, race, ethnicity, religion or disability.” Democrats addressing the convention on Tuesday, September 4, 2012, trumpeted the law’s passage as a singular achievement for the president. As one speaker noted: “President Obama is … standing up for women in North Carolina and across our country.” North Carolina Gov. Bev Perdue said during an early evening speech, ”He has helped women fight for equal pay for equal work.” Government records show that despite the Democratic National Convention’s focus on salary equality for women, President Barack Obama has consistently paid his own female staffers less than men who perform similar or identical duties. Data from the Obama White House’s 2011 annual report show that female staffers there earn a median salary 18 percent lower than that of men. And nearly four years ago, at the height of the 2008 election season, Scripps Howard syndicated columnist Deroy Murdock wrote that female staffers in Obama’s U.S. Senate office were also shortchanged. According to Murdock “Obama’s average male employee earned $54,397,” (determined from online Senate salary records). But the future president’s “30 female employees … [earned] $45,152, on average.”
In a time of uncertainty in the Middle East you have disparaged our staunch ally Israel and now your administration is finalizing a pact with Egypt’s newly-established Islamist (Muslim Brotherhood) government to forgive $1 billion in debt as part of an international assistance package intended to “bolster [the country's] transition to democracy,” in the words of the New York Times. In addition to the debt assistance, the administration has thrown its support behind a $4.8 billion loan being negotiated between Egypt and the International Monetary Fund. The United States gives Egypt $1.3 billion in military aid annually, and with this Obama has bought so much influence with the Egyptian government that Morsi’s first trip outside of Egypt was to China and not the United States.
Here are a few more accomplishments Obama can take credit for under his watch:
Obama has added $5 trillion to the national debt, pushing it to a staggering $16 trillion; and while more than 8% of Americans are unemployed Obama played over 100 rounds of golf and took vacations.
Obama has done more to create racial division than any President since the 1960′s and has promulgated class warfare and wealth re-distribution on a scale that has not been seen in our modern era.
And yes Mr. Obama, “we did build this,” it’s called America, and unlike some people in the White House we have always been proud of her. However, Mr. Obama you can be proud of your accomplishments, for you have achieved in 4 years what no other Marxist/Socialist has ever achieved and that is to reach the pinnacle of power in the greatest Nation.
So if you have the nerve, stand proudly before the American people and take credit for all these wonderful achievements or maybe you can just legislate them away with one of your famous Executive Orders.
